This typographic poster is a quick work in graphic design to encapsulate the essence of the chosen type: FUTURA
This concept combines the feeling of familiarity through retro design, just like how Futura has the familiarity of ancient Roman fonts; and futuristic abstraction, equals to how Futura was dissociated from other modern serif-derivative fonts.
The main personal challenge in making this poster was to interpret the poster in a fresh, but relevant way to the topic subject.
The back side of the poster also shares similar characteristics as the front, albeit a few differences in color choices: muted, almost pastel retro colors.
The breakdown on the left shows all the variety of widths of upper-, lower-case letters and numbers in Futura. Although seemingly uniform, Futura actually features highly-varying spans or widths in its lineup.
